The barricade is in itself pretty robust but as another reviewer noted the installation hardware is lacking and suggested alternate installation instructions methods that significantly increase its strength and very possibly its survivability during an attack. Installation and use are excellent.

Additionally our door security plates have been used in universities churches retail businesses offices and inside government headquarters. If you think your door is wider i would suggest measuring it as other reviews said it was to small. But with the nightlock barricade at the floor level it is out of reach. If someone is trying to get in they are looking for another way.

Here is what i noted. I added a couple of pics to see what it looks like. A most excellent security upgrade for the 40 price. A hollow core metal door can be folded open in a few seconds and even kickdowns like you show are broken off.

It can withstand 1100 lbs of force. Also have the nightlock for inward swing doors and highly recommend it as well. Keep in mind the door itself plays a key role in how strong a barricade lock performs. Can t beat this product for protection of outswing doors.

A solid core wood door is going to be tough. A pivoting barricade lock is probably possible but will that pivot point withstand shear and blows. The sliding plate that goes against the door is a little odd shaped but it does the job. 76 people found this helpful.
